Welcome to the Authorized and Official Website of the Osage Shareholder’s Association. This website is owned wholly by the Association and is operated for and by the membership.

We as members encourage the Osage people to join in the cause to monitor and protect our heritage. All Osages are encouraged to join the association whether as an Osage Shareholder or Osage Associate with the potential to receive a headright whether by inheritance or life estate. We all have a duty to support and hold dear the action of our former Chief James Bigheart, who in his wisdom secured our rights through the document known as the 1906 Act.

There have been attempts over the years to ‘break’ the Act and cause our People to be divisive. We as Shareholder’s and Osages repudiate those attempts and join together here in this association to beware and proactive in our monitoring of the Osage Mineral Council and the newly formed Osage Nation in order to protect our heritage for perpetuity. This is but an instrument of our actions to gather our people, to educate and inform, organize and disseminate to attain our goal of preservation of the Osage Mineral Estate Trust.

The new domain, OsageShareholdersAssociation.org, was implemented when an agreement between the OSA and board member Kent Radcliff could not be reached. Although Kent was instrumental in the first website, it did not meet the needs of the Association any longer. The total investment for the new website to get it up and running is $234.10 and we expect it to be more economical to maintain.

This website was designed by and for the membership. We wish to thank our industry recognized award winning Osage artist and Shareholder member, Melani King, for donating her expertise and time to design our new website. Ideas and suggestions were implemented throughout with the intent to be comprehensive, user friendly, informative and motivating.

Although the OSA is a private association limited to Osage members only, overwhelming opinion deemed this website allow non-members to post on our forum. Respecting the majority vote of our membership we are honoring that request and with the capabilities of the forum we are also satisfying the need for Osage Shareholder’s to have a restricted communication avenue. We have included a means through which both can be served. As always, it is expected those using the website exert respect for the opinions of our fellow Osages. Personal attacks will not be tolerated.

Osage Shareholder Association members who have a headright are the only members who will have access to the restricted area by means of a password. Members who live away from the reservation will have the opportunity to vote on important issues that are addressed at regular meetings.

Associate members and Shareholder members as well as Osages who would like to participate in the forum will need to register for a password to post on the forum. Information required in the registration process will be kept private and we will never disclose the information to a third party. A screen name may be selected if one needs anonymity or you may post your true identity. However, if a participant does not respect the rules of the forum they may be blocked from participation.

The Officer’s and Executive Board encourage active interaction on the website. Please feel free to contact the Webmaster with input and suggestions. Remember, Association Members, this is your website so enjoy it and use it wisely.
